Goals and Objectives of the Program
Considering the vital importance of language education, particularly English, the language and literature department has proposed a Bachelor of Science (BS) program in Applied Linguistics. The concern primarily revolves around students from diverse backgrounds lacking English proficiency. Notably, the global prevalence of English and its role in research has led to English education starting from early schooling. However, this has created a gap between demands and resources. In response, alongside the BS English in Language and Literature, the department has initiated the BS program in Applied Linguistics. This aims to train educators who can bridge this gap by addressing the pressing need for English language instruction. Special focus on

1. Linguistics: Studying language’s scientific aspects and diversity.
2. English Language Teaching (ELT): Excelling in English language teaching pedagogy.
3. Language, Media, and Communication: Exploring language-media dynamics and communication strategies.
4. Expert Language Use: Gaining proficiency in translation, forensic linguistics, corpus linguistics, and more.
5. Language Skills: Developing effective communication and written expression.
