Dear Participants,

Subject:           Rules and Regulation for Competitions at “International Summit on Ideology of Pakistan-Jid-do-Jahad-19-20 March 2019”

01-  Riphah International University is organizing first kind of International Summit on Ideology of Pakistan regarding Pakistan day, 23rd March. The theme of this summit is “Jid-do-Jahad | The Journey of Struggle for Pakistan”.  This summit is planned to aware the new generation about the Struggle made by Pakistan Movement Workers and true concept of Pakistan ideology through different competitions, symposium, and exhibition under one roof. Students from all over Pakistan are invited to take part in the summit by participating in different activities.

02-  Riphah International University is going to tribute our national heroes of Jid-o-Jehed e Aazadi by a mega summit “Jid-o-Jehed” on 19-20 March 2019 at Awan-e-Quiad F-9 Islamabad. Separate events and competitions will be held for Boys and Girls on 19th and 20th March respectively.

03-  This will be the biggest event of twin cities. We hope you are well prepared and eagerly looking forward to it. In the following booklet you can find the general rules of the event, guidelines and by-laws of all competitions. Kindly thoroughly go through the said documents to avoid misconceptions and ambiguities. In case of further queries, please feel free to contact us.

04-  So keep the spirits high, prepare well. We will see you on the 19th -20th of March for two days of healthy competitions, friendly activities, exuberant Pakistan session and loads of fun.

GENERAL EVENT RULES:

·         There should be one head delegate (Separate for Girls and Boys) in each team in case of University/Institute registration in the event.

·         Only University and College student can participate in competitions.

·         Online registration and fee submission is mandatory till 15th March 2019.

·         The head delegate is responsible for providing all details or information of the participants of that institute.

·         Participants not registered with their institute’s delegation will be considered as individual participants.

·         There is a first come, first serve policy regarding allotments.

·         All participants must have to register at venue for final list. Late comers will not be entertained.

·         The Status of registration will be confirmed after receiving Registration fee.

·         You are required to dress appropriately during the event.

·         None of the participants is allowed to skip any of the competitions. In case of an emergency, you must inform the management. Management’s decision will be considered final. Registration fee is not refundable, in any case.

·         Management has all the rights reserved to disqualify and penalize any team/individual in case of violation of event rules and regulations.

·         The decision of the judges for every competition is final and cannot be challenged.

·         The schedule or the event’s proceedings can change; in that case the participants will be informed properly before the event.

·         Participants are requested to report at least half-an-hour before a competition to avoid unnecessary delays and remain in contact with competition head.

·         Participants must carry their institute ID cards and CNIC with them throughout the event.

·         The failure to comply with event/competition rules may result in disqualification or penalization.

·         Any misconduct with fellow participants or management can result into disqualification.

·         The management is not responsible for any injuries caused by the irresponsible behavior of any participant.

·         The participants are responsible for all their personal belongings. Management is not responsible for any kind of loss.

·         Your corporation in this regard will be highly appreciated.

 

Registration Procedure:

·         Only University/College students are eligible to participate in Competitions. However, all other can visit the event on their respective days.

·         Online Registration in mandatory to participate in any competitions.

·         If you are apply for more than one competition then apply separately for each competition

·         Visit (riphah website: https://www.riphah.edu.pk/students/jid-do-jahad ) and submit an online registration form.

·         After submission of the form, pay your Registration fee Amounting Rs. 300/-(Each Competition) to our Ambassadors in your institute and collect Registration Ticket (Ambassadors list will be share later on our event page)

·         In case of non-availability of our ambassador, one of our Representative will contact you for Registration fee.

·         Keep safe Registration Ticket and will be provided on event day at Registration desk.

·         On March 19, 2019 only males are allowed to participate and visit in competitions & sessions & On March 20, 2019 only females are allowed to participate and visit in competitions and sessions.

·         If you are unable to understand the registration procedure or facing difficulty, you should contact us at any time. 

·         Online registration is mandatory for competition.

·         Participant must be University/College card holder.

 

 

 

 

ESSAY WRITING:

      Essay (English/Urdu)

1-Topic English: Pakistan’s development as an Islamic Welfare State, The way forward

2-Topic Urdu:     پاکستان خطے میں ترقی کی علامت ہے

Guidelines

·        Each Participant will be given blank sheets for essay.

·        Time limit will be 60 minutes for each participant.

·        Essay should be Minimum 3000 of words. (Both English & Urdu)

·        Any use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited; any contestant found using one will be disqualified at once.

·        Stationery will be provided to the participants.

·        Participants cannot leave the room during the competition.

·        Participants can only communicate with the organizers or volunteers of for queries and questions

·        Rough paper will also be given to all.

·        Outlines, poetry and references will be marked higher.

·        1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders will be awarded prizes

·        Rs. 10,000 and a souvenir will be awarded for winner, Rs. 5,000 for runner up and Rs. 3,000 for third position.

·        Certificates will be awarded to all participants

 

DEBATING:

1-      Topic: نظریہ پاکستان قومی ترقی کی ضمانت ہے

Guidelines:

•         A speaker may agree or disagree with the topic.

•         The contest will consist of only one round.

•         Each speaker will speak for a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes. Marks will be deducted for failing to observe the stipulated time.

•         A speaker making offensive remarks about any important personage and passing controversial religious, political or sectarian remarks shall be immediately disqualified.

•         Using words/sentences with any indecent connotation and passing derogatory comments against the chair and institution will lead to the instant disqualification of the speaker. In the event, the speaker may be asked to step down from the podium during the speech.

•         Paper reading is not allowed. Those who do so will be disqualified.

•         1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders will be awarded prizes

•         Rs. 10,000 and a souvenir will be awarded for winner, Rs. 5,000 for runner up and Rs. 3,000 for third position.

•         Certificates will be awarded to all participants

 

FINE ARTS:

1-      CALLIGRAPHY

“Calligraphy is an art form that uses ink and a brush to express the very souls of words    

  on paper. Jid-o-Jehed brings you a calligraphy competition to showcase your skills!”

   Theme: “Iqbal Poetry/Quaid’s Sayings”

Guidelines

·         It is an individual competition and must follow the theme. (On Spot)

·         You have to write any Sayings of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah or Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Poetry verses.

·         The paper of size 22x28 inches (i.e. Standard Chart Paper size) will be provided by organizing team on spot.

·         Three (3) hours will be given to complete your art work.

·         The artwork can include pictures or designs to complement the calligraphic work (as long as it does not depict human or animals figure). However, the calligraphy should appear to be the main focus of work.

·         Judgment criteria shall be on creativity, design, clarity, content and elements present.

·         Rs. 10,000 and a souvenir will be awarded for winner, Rs. 5,000 for runner up and Rs. 3,000 for third position.

·         Certificates will be awarded to all participants

 

2.       SKETCHING

“Sketching is almost everything. It is the painter's identity, his style, and his conviction. Sketch the spirit and soul of what you see! We bring you a Sketching Competition so that you can leave an accurate record of the experience of what one isn't, of what one doesn't know.”

Theme: “Pakistan Movement’s Leaders”

Guidelines

·         It is an individual competition and must follow the theme. (On Spot)

·         The paper of size A4 (i.e. Standard Paper size) will be provided by organizing team on spot.

·         Colors sketching is not allowed only lead pencil will be used.

·         Please bring all necessary items with yourself expect paper.

·         Posters should only be 2 dimensional and no elevation will be allowed.

·         Two (2) hours will be given to complete your art work.

·         Judgment criteria shall be on creativity, design, clarity, content and elements present. Rs. 10,000 and a souvenir will be awarded for winner, Rs. 5,000 for runner up and Rs. 3,000 for third position.

·         Certificates will be awarded to all participants

3.       PAINTING

“Painting is almost everything. It is the painter's identity, his style, and his conviction. Sketch the spirit and soul of what you see! We bring you a Painting Competition so that you can leave an accurate record of the experience of what one isn't, of what one doesn't know.”

Theme: “August 1947 Migration Scenes”

Guidelines

·         It is an individual competition and must follow the theme.

·         The paper of size 22x28 inches (i.e. Standard Chart Paper size) will be provided by organizing team on spot.

·         Please bring all necessary items with yourself expect chart paper.

·         Acceptable media include but are not limited to watercolors, oil paints, crayons, mixed media, chalks, pastels, charcoal etc.

·         Three (3) hours will be given to complete your art work.

·         Judgment criteria shall be on creativity, design, clarity, content and elements present. Rs. 10,000 and a souvenir will be awarded for winner, Rs. 5,000 for runner up and Rs. 3,000 for third position.

·         Certificates will be awarded to all participants

 

QUIZ:

 

      ON-LINE QUIZ REGARDING JID-O-JEHED E AAZADI;

A comprehensive Quiz competition will be held on Jid-o-Jehed 2019 among students. All students can participate individually. Quiz Competition will be conducted online only. All participants will be marked through an online quiz competition.

Guidelines:

·         All Participants can join the quiz competition.

·           Quiz will be conducted online and last date for Quiz submission is 15th March 2019

·           Prize will be divided in case of two or more winners.

·           No registration fee is required for quiz

·           Rs. 8,000 and a souvenir will be awarded for winner, Rs. 3,000 for runner up and Rs. 2,000 for third position.

·           Certificates will be awarded to all participants

·           Online Link will be available at our website and FB page.

 

 

 

 

RESEARCH POSTER/MODEL COMPETITION:

·         Riphah bring a chance to our researchers to draw a model poster for Pakistan.

·         Topic for research poster is “Research Model of Islamic Welfare State for Pakistan”

Guidelines:

•                   Presentation is mandatory for each participants

•                   Each Participant must have to submit the diagram by 15th March 2019.

•                   Diagram may print on Pena flex, hand written chart, Computer Print.

•                   Size for diagram may not exceed with 22*28 inches (standard chart size)

•                   Time limit for presentation will be 3 minutes.

•                   Notes and papers will be allowed but phones, gadgets are not allowed during competition.

•                   Decision of Judges will not be questionable.

•                   Rs. 10,000 and a souvenir will be awarded for winner, Rs. 5,000 for runner up and Rs. 3,000 for third position.

•                   Certificates will be awarded to all participants

 

SHORT DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION:

 

·         Make a documentary on Jid-o-Jehed e Aazadi e Pakistan.

·         All you need to present the idea of Pakistan creation with importance of its ideology, any story may be narrated, any short video shot may be done, any kind of documentary highlighting ideology of Pakistan may present.  

Guidelines:

The short documentaries should be of 1-2 minutes duration.

•         Team members for each film and documentary should not be more than 3.

•         Required format for films is: AVI, VLC format, MP4 (no exceptions).

•         Content having obscenity and exploitation of national interest will not be displayed in the competition.

•         Only the films produced in the duration of year 2019 will be accepted

•         The Films and Documentaries will be judged on the basis of concept, script, and camera work and editing.

•         Rs. 10,000 and a souvenir will be awarded for winner, Rs. 5,000 for runner up and Rs. 3,000 for third position.

•         Certificates will be awarded to all participants

 

 TEHZEEB (Cultural) STALL:

·         You can impersonate yourself and present your province with culture, dressing, food, famous personalities, places, values, hospitality etc.

·         Boys and Girls will display separate stalls at their respective days.

Guideline:

·         Only Riphah students can participate in it

·         Each faculty will present a province

o   Lahore Campuses: Punjab

o   Faisalabad Campus: Sindh

o   IIMC: AJK

o   Al-Meezan Campus: Gilgit & Baltistan

o   FC & FSSH: KP

o   FEAS: Baluchistan

o   G-7 Campus: Pakistan

·         Stall size: 20*10

·         Participants will be given 3 to 5 minutes for act during judgment.

·         The stall will be judged on the basis of clothing, script, voice and body language.

·         Rs. 25,000 and a souvenir will be awarded for winner, Rs. 10,000 for runner up.
