Ph.D. program at Riphah Institute of Media Sciences offers an interdisciplinary academic exploration, targeted to ensure tangible intellectual value additions. Objectives of the Program

The objective of the Ph.D. program is to give prospect scholars a comprehensive, updated, detailed and connected understanding of all communicating entities, their medium and their role through media in society.

  • The student will be able to learn and adopt advanced qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques.
  • They will be able to attend to pluralistic approaches while constructing objective based impact centric approaches.
  • It will be a unique blend of the creative arts and the communication perspectives and give the broader theoretical and practical perspective.

  • Ph.D. Candidate shall possess at least 18 years of Education (MS/M.Phil degree) or equivalent qualification in the media, mass communication research.
  • The candidate shall have at least First Division (in the Annual System in MS/M.Phil/ equivalent degree or minimum CGPA 3.00 (out o4 4.00in the semester system).
  • An applicant with considerable experience in the specialized field of media and a professional degree in relevant discipline. Candidate with MFA, MA required at least twenty years of experience, in the area of study or MS, MPhil with five years of practical experience in a recognized media organization.
  • The candidate must have passed the University/Departmental admission test in the subject or equivalent test conducted by an authorized/recognized body of the HEC for admission in the program.
  • The admission to a program shall be made on the basis of cumulative merit to be determined from the previous academic record, prescribed written test and interview.
  • Anyone who has been rusticated or expelled by a university, degree awarding institute or college for misconduct or for use of unfair means in the examinations or for any offense involving moral turpitude shall not be eligible for admission in any program of the University. 
  • Candidates are required to submit research Proposal Comprising 5000-6000words in the area of Creative & Communications. The Proposal should be relevant to the area of Specializations while stating the significance of the study, objective, research methods, theoretical framework and its implication in national scenario.
  • Classes will be held in the evening during weekdays.
