Students of Riphah International University Planted trees on “National Green Day”
Riphah International University started its plantation campaign 2017 on “National Green Day” which has been celebrated on 9th February 2017 “at Rose and Jasmine garden, Islamabad.
Students of Riphah International University participated in “Spring Tree Planting Campaign 2017” and planted trees with a slogan of “Going Back to Local Trees”. Riphah International University with a vision of Join us for a Green Future, involved its students to actively participate and plant trees in this program. Talking to the media, Students show great interest for planting more and more trees and appreciated the imitative of Riphah International University and other authorities for providing this opportunity of plantation, as it is a very healthy and prosper activity for upcoming generations.
Riphah International University has taken this initiative of Green Future, under its corporate social responsibility in which Riphah will do uplifting and beautification of H 8 roundabout in Islamabad through Landscaping and plantation.
National Green day is a wonderful opportunity for creating awareness regarding plantation of trees and their protection for a green future of Pakistan. Primary feature of National Green Day is planting of hundreds of thousands of “indigenous and local” tree species in all provinces/AJK/GB by involving government departments, elected local leadership as well as students and civil society organizations.
Overall target for spring tree planting campaign has been kept at 257 million trees, majority of which will be local and indigenous tree species.
