The Riphah College of Rehabilitation Science (RCRS) was established in 2007 under the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (FHMS) of Riphah International University with the aim to produce graduates of Physical Therapy and other Rehabilitation Professions in Pakistan according to international standards. The pioneer institute in the Entry level Doctor of physical therapy program (DPT) and Post Professional Doctor of Physical therapy program (PP-DPT) in Pakistan (Equivalency of 18 years of schooling/M.Phil as per HEC criteria) .The College has the largest and highly qualified faculty of physical therapy. The only institute has foreign qualified faculty (UK & USA).The college has two campuses, Islamabad and Lahore. The college also has great contribution for the uplifting of rehabilitation sciences professions by enhancing the knowledge and skills of the practicing clinicians. The college has a leading role by developing uniform DPT curriculum in the country. The Director of the College was nominated as secretary of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) national curriculum revision committee (NCRC).
Dr. Asghar khan holds his entry level Physical Therapy degree (BSPT) from one of the oldest physical therapy institute “College of Physiotherapy (JPMC) University of Karachi” and he is the first US Board Certified Physical Therapist in Pakistan with Clinical Doctorate Degree (DPT) from one of the reputable (A.T Still university Arizona) university in USA.He has 14 years clinical experience in state of the art health institutions in USA and 5 years teaching experience in the university. He also has completed manual therapy certificate courses (Evidence based manual therapy of the spine and extremities) from Ola Grimsby institute in California USA.He came back to the country in 2007 with the intention to serve the country. He joined Riphah International University in the end of 2007 and established a state of the art Riphah College of Rehabilitation Science (RCRS) and currently he leads as Director/Associate Professor of the institute. He enriched his qualification further with a post graduate diploma in professional ethics and teaching methodology from Riphah international university, Islamabad.
Deputy Director - Lahore Campus
Dr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah is a highly qualified faculty member (Deputy Director/ Assistant Professor) of Riphah College of Rehabilitation Sciences Lahore Campus, which is a constituent college of Riphah International University Islamabad. He provided his services in teaching and clinical establishments of different Organizations, National Hospital & Medical Center, shapes health and wellness club, Lahore. He provided his services as an adjunct faculty member in paramount universities around Pakistan in particular King Edward Medical University, Lahore and University of Faisalabad. He secured pivotal roles in these organizations for the profound uplifting of academic, conjectural, literary and research projects as a scholarly professional and researcher. For the first time in Pakistan he introduced audio visual learning system in physical therapy. He graduated from School of Physiotherapy Mayo Hospital Lahore in 1997.He completed his additional one year course for 4 years (BS.PT) degree from Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center Karachi(JPMC) university of Karachi. He enhanced his qualification in 2010 by earning Post Professional Clinical Doctorate in physical therapy (PP-DPT) from Riphah International University, Islamabad (Awarded equivalency of 18 years of schooling, Master/M.Phil by HEC). He enriched his qualification further with a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Ethics and Teaching Methodology (PGD, PE&TM). Dr. Shah is a versatile clinician with 16 years experiences of clinical practices and mentorships during which he mastered and taught advanced manual therapy skills.
