Prof. Dr. Masood Anwar has extensive teaching experience in the field of Software Engineering and Information Technology.Maj Gen (R) Prof. Dr. Masood Anwar HI(M) B.Sc. MBBS; MCPS; FCPS, former Executive Director, National Institute of Health has served as Professor of Pathology (Haematology) in Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and Army Medical College. He is former Principal of Army Medical College. He has commanded Armed Forces Bone Marrow Transplant Centre, Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. He has over 25 years experience of teaching both to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. He has more than 200 research publications and has contributed in several books.Currently he is President Pakistan Society of Haematology, President Elect Pakistan Association of Pathologists, and Vice President College of Pathologists of Pakistan, Vice President Pakistan Thallasemia Welfare Association and Chairman Islamabad Blood Transfusion Authority.
Why IIMC?
Islamic International Medical College (IIMC) is one of the medical institutions in private sector in Pakistan established in 1996. It offers five years basic and clinical training leading to the degree of MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery). The college is affiliated with International University, Islamabad and is recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM & DC) Islamabad and the WHO. The college is located in the middle of sprawling green lawns of the historic premises of old Supreme Court building with beautiful orchids around, on Peshawar Road, in Rawalpindi cantonment area. This historical building is constructed over an area of 40 Kanals and has 80,000 sq. feet covered area.
IIMC has state-of-the-art labs, museums, dissection hall, mortuary, demonstration rooms, lecture halls, seminar rooms, library, multi head lab & skill lab & cafeterias. It lies in the neighborhood of the MH, AFIC, AMC, CMH, AFIO, AFIP, IIMC-T Pakistan Railways Hospital and the Roomi Park. The Shopping Mall of Sadar is at a walking distance. Various reputed commercial banks are easily approachable. The Mall Rawalpindi Club, the Flashman Hotel, Pearl Continental Hotel, Hotel Shalimar, provide 4-5 stars facility.Telegraph and Post Office are also in close proximity.
Accreditation Status
IIMC is the first private sector Medical College to be recognized by PM & DC in Punjab & Federal Area.
Eight batches of MBBS students have graduated and are registered with PM & DC.
IIMC is also recognized for training by College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan for FCPS Part-II
in Medicine, Surgery, Gynae, Paeds & Anesthesia and Physiology and Orthodontics.
IIMC is also listed in WHO directory of accredited medical schools & universities.

Pakistan Railways Teaching Hospital is located in Westridge, a densely populated area of Rawalpindi. It is a 400-bedded teaching hospital delivering tertiary health care services including emergency, out patients and in patients services. We have a unique collaboration of private/public sector partnership with Pakistan Railways. Under this collaboration, we have been given management and full control of Railways Hospital for 66 years. This partnership will lead to improvement in the national health care delivery system. IIMC- Trust provided high tech equipment to this hospital due to which most modern and sophisticated procedures like,’ phacoemulcification for cataract surgery, endoscopic, cystoscopic and laparoscopic surgeries are performed in this hospital. All departments of this hospital are upgraded to match with the standards of tertiary care.
These measures ultimately gave us the honour that our departments of Medicine, Surgery, Gynae/ Obs, Pediatrics and Anaesthesia are now recognized by College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan for FCPS Part-II training. Now the students of our College can complete their fellowship training in their own institution.
This hospital is a true general public hospital so there is rich teaching material for our students. For academic needs two lecture theaters and seven demonstration rooms have been constructed in the premises of this hospital. In line with its welfare measure, IIMC provides complete free health services to Railways beneficiary including free surgical care, medicine and diagnostics etc.
